Don’t you just love when your neighbor is having a yard sale, giving away all the amazing things her kids loved throughout their entire childhood? I do. I love a good yard sale. Ultimately, they should have just given us everything to start with since we basically cleaned the place out before 9am. I even convinced my mom to get more when we went back around noon to see what was left ;) We not only got this amazing plastic pool for $5 (with a slide and everything!) but we also got an umbrella stroller, a kiddie picnic table, tons of books, a few clothes he can grow into, kiddie plates for every holiday, and some DVD’s. Score!
I’m here, I’m here! I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve been to this little space of mine. I got a big opportunity at work, which has had me pretty much drowning for the last 2 months. Giving me absolutely no time/effort to do anything other than my necessary work & mom duties. But, we are finally through the busy month of May and the big projects are done! Until August that is ;) If anyone is wondering, I work for an exhibit house in MD (we build custom & rental exhibits for tradeshows). If your business is looking for a new booth for an upcoming show, hit me up! :)
As you know, this past weekend was Memorial Day weekend and we had a blast. It was much need time with the family and much need time with the sun. We went to Ocean City, MD on Saturday, where we hung out on the beach with friends and drank many, many orange crushes. Grayson stayed with Kyle’s parents who were smitten to watch him. I love that he has so many loving grandparents…. he’s a lucky kid :)
When we first got there, Grayson watched Kyle and his dad chop some wood and got a huge kick out of it. He explored the garden and ran around the yard touching and examining everything he could. He’s a curious little man and surely isn’t afraid of anything. READ MORE
Guys, I can finallllly say that we are over the stomach flu! (I hope). The 24 hr stomach bug hit our house Thursday night when Grayson threw up all over himself, my car and his car seat. Conveniently, I was meeting my parents for dinner and was already in the parking lot, so I quickly pulled him out, got him undressed and plopped him in the front seat. He proceeded to touch every button on my dashboard and honk the horn as I called my mom frantically because I didn’t have a diaper bag with me. #momfail. I did have a diaper but no extra clothes and nothing to clean the car seat off with. I’ve learned my lesson…. I’ll always have a spare bag in the car from now on.
Then Friday came…. and that virus hit me full force and there was no stopping it. I tried to go into work but only lasted 30 minutes until I got sick. I went home and laid on the couch watching reruns of Greys all day. My body ached and I could barely move. I have no idea how Grayson’s little body didn’t feel this way…. READ MORE
Happy St. Patrick’s Day week! Kyle and I are both 50% Irish so we love celebrating everything green. On Sunday we spent the morning in Baltimore at Shamrock Shindig… an family friendly event that my friends company coordinated. It was filled with Irish music, girls doing the Irish jig, crafts, food, and beer (for the parents of course). Grayson’s favorite part of the entire event was the loud music pipes that he could continuously bang on to make the loudest noise possible. It couldn’t have been good for his ears… but you win some, you loose some as a parent. He also loved running up and down the hill, pointing out the boats around the harbor, and trying to jump in the harbor. Don’t worry, we won that one ;)
I got little hats and a head band at the dollar store on Friday so we could arrive in style. You can’t go to an Irish event without something Irish-y on, am I right? Kyle at least kept his little leprechaun hat on READ MORE
It’s been a while since I’ve sat down and wrote in this little space of mine and there has been a reason for that. After the hectic holiday season past, I found myself uninspired. We were still doing a bunch of cool things and Grayson is still growing at a rate that is truly unbelievable – mentally, physically, and emotionally, but I lost the urge to share and capture those moments as much as I used too. The past couple of days I’ve been really trying to figure out why…. READ MORE
