It’s the best day of the week! I am so happy it’s Friday I could jump up and down. Friday means that when Kyle gets home from work today, he will be home with Grayson and I for the next two days and that calls for a celebration. Let’s do some Friday Favorites because they are always fun!
Let’s start by saying that our baby boy slept for 9 hours straight last night. NINE. I’m still in shock and actually woke up around 5 am and checked that he was still breathing. Don’t worry, he was and he looked so cute and perfect as usual. When I woke up I also realized that since he didn’t wake up for his middle of the night feeding, my boobs were hard as rocks. This was the first time they have ever actually hurt for me so I pumped for a little and happily went back to bed (he woke up around 6:45 and I fed him, slept for a little longer, played for a little and is now asleep again. what a sleepy boy! but I’m not complaining). I feel so rested I might actually jump up and down! ;)
My parents wedding anniversary is today! They have been happily married for 33 years today and I think that is absolutely amazing. With so many failed marriages surrounding me and people I know, I couldn’t be more proud of my parents for the way they work together, stick together, and love each other no matter what. They really have showed me what love and family is really about and I want to wish them the happiest anniversary!
Carter’s is having a Columbus Day Sale (which ends this Monday) and I really want to get this adorable red vest for Grayson. I might have to get the polar bear tee, pants, and hat that they suggest with it (they really get you with their suggestions don’t they?!) because I mean, come on, how adorable.
I love to bake and I sure do love the crock-pot (my go-to since I’m a horrible cook) and I came across this Crock-Pot Baked Apple recipe and really want to try it! Bonus: It’s from Skinny Chef so you totally don’t have to feel bad for eating it.
We don’t really have many plans this weekend other than having a nice date night on Saturday to see Gone Girl! Has anyone seen it yet? Is it good? My parents have offered to watch Grayson so we can have some time to ourselves. We love date night :) Other than that we might throw in some hikes along our favorite trails, do some much needed house cleaning and just relax while watching football.
One last thing, I am on a search for really nice brown boots that will last and are of course super stylish. Does anyone have a pair or a brand that they really love that have lasted them a couple years? Let me know!
Here is a quick video I took this morning of our happy little boy after his restful night sleep. I melt.
Have a great weekend, friends!
