It’s Grayson’s second Christmas and he’s truly growing into an incredible little boy right before our eyes. He’s so smart and beautiful – I’m just so proud of him. We have been so blessed to have a happy, healthy, and loving boy. It’s even more awesome around the holidays…. kids always makeREAD MORE
Here are our 2015 Christmas cards! Kyle’s brother so kindly took some pictures for us near a patch of Christmas tree’s and because of Grayson’s two second attention span, this was the best we could get him to do ;) I love them though and I’m happy to keep this tradition going. I forgot to put 2015 on them (total fail) but I’ll just write it on the back of the one we keep so I can keep track. We ordered these lovely cards from Simply To Impress. It’s the first time I’ve used them READ MORE
I can’t believe Christmas is right around the corner!!! I know I’m skipping over our beloved Thanksgiving holiday but I’m already being asked for Christmas ideas for Grayson so I thought I’d do a little post on some things I’ve been eyeing up lately.
1. Step2 Easel – I know Grayson might be a little too young for this still but his little mind is learning and exploring so quickly lately that I don’t think it’s too early for anything. I love the idea of forming words on the magnetic board with the letters and practicing his “coloring” on the other side. Let’s bring out your artistic side baby boy!
2. Bean Bag Chair – Maybe if Grayson had a chair of his own, he’d curl up in it and sit still for more than 5 seconds to read a book. It might be just wishful thinking, but I can try!
3. Calculator Cash Register – because you’re never to young to start learning about money, right?
4. Peg Puzzles – I remember having these as a kid and loved them. It’s such a good way to learn your numbers, letters and shapes!
5. Kiddie Hunter Boots – because every little kid deserves their own pair of Hunter boots. A warm liner and they make for the perfect winter shoe. The price tag of these is a big turn off but I’m told if you get a size bigger, they will last more than just one season. (G is in size 4 shoe right now but for these I’d get a size 5 so he can wear them next winter too)
6. LEGO Storage – I think these LEGO storage bins are the cutest. We can store his other toys in them until he is old enough for his own LEGO set :)
7. Pottery Barn lunch box – since monogrammed lunch boxes are the bomb!
A few more things would be these thermal shirts (18-24 months) and more of our favorite bandana bibs. Grayson has been drooling like crazy lately, going through at least two of these a day. We can never have enough! I also really like the Pottery Barn pre-k backpack to go with the lunch box. It would be nice to have a dedicated backpack for G to hold extra stuff for daycare (extra pair of clothes, bibs, diapers, wipes, etc). You can never have too many monogrammed things! Jammies are always a great present to get a child and we love these and these!
I hope this helps anyone else looking for things to get their 15 month old boys!! Christmas is only 39 days away!
For Grayson’s second Halloween, we dressed him up as a dragon. The cutest dragon in the whole wide world, might I add. My co-worker gave me this costume that her son wore a couple years ago and I’m obsessed. It not only fit him perfectly in size but it also fit his personality pretty perfectly. Our fierce, loud dragon ready for action! Or I guess I should say, candy…?
This year, even though he’s still too young to really understand what is going on, we wanted to start trick or treating with him. We surprised my parents and went to their house for a couple hours and decided to walk to a few houses in their neighborhood. Nothing too crazy but it was fun to do as a family. Once we got to the third house, Grayson started understanding exactly what he needed to do. We’d put him on the front step of the house, I’d ring the doorbell and when someone answered the door, I’d say “trick or treat”! Once the basket of candy was put him front of him, he’d reach in to grab 2 or 3 pieces and put them right in his pumpkin pail. We’d say “thank you” (he loves that word) and move on to the next house. It was freaking adorable, guys.
I’m not going to lie, we were running out of daylight hours by the time I met up with Kyle and Grayson so I made Kyle pull over and we got out and took pictures in an empty parking lot ha! I knew by the time we got to my parents, it would be almost dark and I wanted some good pictures of G in his costume while we still had good light. Kyle thinks I’m crazy but if I didn’t do that, we wouldn’t have these great pictures so I think I made the right call ;)
I hope everyone had a great Halloween!!! Now I have to control the amount of candy I eat since Grayson can’t really help me. And now it’s time to start thinking about Thanksgiving and the Christmas holiday! I have a big urge to starting watching the Santa Clause….
And don’t forget to vote for Grayson HERE to be the next Gerber baby! Please, please, please! Vote everyday until 11/24! If his picture doesn’t automatically pop up, please search the ID#113992 or just type in “Grayson” and “MD” for the state and you’ll see his picture! Thank you!!!
Hi friends! This past Saturday we went to Applewood Farm where we played on the playground, passed through the petting zoo, rode on the choo choo train, took the tractor into the pumpkin patch, picked a pumpkin, ran through the maze, ate hotdogs and drank hot apple cider. It was a perfect family day out, which included Nana!
I just love this time of year, don’t you? The leaves are stunning and make for a perfect background for photos with the cutest little boy, right?! Fall has always been my favorite season. The crisp air, the calming atmosphere, and the holiday excitement make for the best memories. Now that the stress of wedding planning is behind us, I feel like we are simply enjoying being husband and wife/mom and dad. There are no plans, no “we need to do this now because it’s due” to-do lists, no feelings of anxiety. We are being spontaneous and saying “I love you” to each other 200 times a day. This is what life is all about ;)
Twins! Gosh, watching this man teach and play and love our son with all of his heart is everything I could have hoped for in the father of my children. He’s so loving and tender when it comes to our family and would protect us no matter what. I couldn’t be luckier to have this family of mine.
Hi Nana! We love you!!!
He wasn’t too sure about the train ride but he’s getting more and more brave with things like this and I am so proud of him! As long as he’s close to someone he trusts, he’s okay :)
Pumpkin patches are the best!! I love that Grayson is now walking and can run around and explore more things around him. It makes for a much more adventurous outing! I hope you are all soaking up this season for all it’s worth!
We also carved the pumpkins we picked – Kyle did a superman symbol and I did a ghost. We also baked the seeds because, well duh. Baked pumpkin seeds are amazing. We took a picture of Grayson in the same spot as last year at my parents house (on the porch in between the pumpkins we carved) and OMG. Can you believe how big he’s gotten? Where did my baby go? You never really realize how much of a difference a year makes until you put two pictures together, huh?
